Biography

Jane Hunt has featured as a soloist at Carnegie Hall (New York, New York), Arthur Ashe Stadium for the US Open, Radio City Music Hall (New York, New York), for Sir Elton John’s Lifeball Concert (Vienna, Austria), at The Kennedy Center. (Washington, DC), at the Cannes Film Festival (Cannes, France), at New York Fashion Week for Couture (New York, New York) and was selected by Glamour Magazine’s “Women of the Year Awards” to perform at their ceremony held at Carnegie Hall (New York, New York) with notables such as Nicole Kidman and Michele Obama. 

 

She has performed at the opening and closing ceremonies of the US Open held in the prestigious 22,000 seat Arthur Ashe Stadium, one of the leading sporting and entertainment arenas in the world performing her compositions “Olympia” and “Vasene”  streamed live on The Tennis Channel, ESPN and CBS.

 

As her international reputation continues to grow she continues to be in demand to contribute to other internationally recognized artists. Some of these achievements include being asked to record violin with Jazz legend and 15 time Grammy winner Paquito D’Rivera on Vana Gierig's critically acclaimed “Making Memories” album as well as being contracted to record by the legendary Skywalker Ranch owned by LucasFilms and Disney for the Well Tempered Label.

 

The “Violin Venus Show” is a unique live performance that uses Jane’s own musical compositions. She also combines elements of cirque du soleil and even yoga poses into violin playing. Her music videos have had much success gaining over 300,000 views on youtube for her video rendition of Stings “Fields of Gold”. She is also a regular guest on BBC Radio 4 Live with Dean Jackson in England, UK where her music is regularly played and she talks about life as a musician touring around the world.

 

It was after her grandfather discovered an heirloom violin in the attic that Jane Hunt first began to play the violin at the age of 7 years old in Manchester, England.  In May 2005, Jane graduated with the highest mark of First Class Honors Degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in England, UK and moved to New York City where she now calls home.
